Crustal Velocity Structure of Western Iraq from Inversion of Receiver Functions at Anbar Seismic Station

The inversion of the teleseismic P-wave receiver functions was employed to determine structure crust under Anbar broadband seismic station. Some computer programs in seismology were used analyze nine earthquakes. Results show that crustal (Moho depth) beneath ANB1 station is 44 km. sedimentary cover thickness (basement at 12km. In general, obtained and thicknesses are consistent with results some previous studies Mesopotamian plain. As well as velocity model has four distinct discontinuities; first 6km Vs 2.83km/s, second one 12km 3.63, third 36km 4.21km/s, fourth 44km 4.37km/s. may be locate relocate local earthquakes moment tensor solutions.
